Quick answer: Electric pizza ovens such as the Ooni Volt, Sage (Breville) Pizzaiolo and Effeuno are the only option if you have no balcony or outdoor space, or live somewhere that bans open flames. They reach 400–450 °C (750–840 °F) indoors without smoke from a fire, but several models need their own 16 A circuit – check your electrical installation before you buy.

What you get indoors

The Effeuno models and similar professional electric ovens come close to wood-oven temperatures without open flame or smoke, which makes them suitable for a flat or a building that bans grills on balconies. The Sage Pizzaiolo and Ooni Volt aim more at convenience and consistent results than at absolute maximum temperature.

Power requirements and practical limits

Several of the most powerful electric ovens draw enough current to need a dedicated 16 A circuit – check your home’s wiring and fuse box (and, if in doubt, ask an electrician) before you invest. Expect some fumes even from an electric oven, especially at full power, so ventilate well.
